ummmm... i dunno, i'll check it out

I was browsing another forum and came across one of these in action.
apparently they make a post in a topic and link to google adds. These supposedly don't display when users are logged in.

are they spam bots or a way to pay for bandwidth?

i think that means google or yahoo is scanning our site to make it easier to find in searches. maybe

yeah i first noticed them about a month ago. they have been more active recently, which i accredit to the forum's growth. They get info to be able to put on Google and Yahoo when people do searches. That's why we are the number one result when you search for "LOLZ Gang" on google. More fame for us!

except when we do a raid it and if the emo's google us then they will be led to us and the Aquabats forum.....blegh

oh crap, when you google 'lolz gang' we're the 1st thing to come up, maybe i should change it so administrators have to approve of your account 1st.... snap snap snap! i'm gonna turn the bots off, this is scary! speaking of raids, how about one this weekend?

yeah i think we should make it be that we have to approve new accounts before they are active. But other than that, I think we could leave the bots on. That's how we'll get rich!
EDIT: I see the google bot right now! woohoo!

make the board private, too. like. you have to have an account to look at the different forums. ON top of being approved to join.
